Handling & Personal Protection

Ensure good ventilation and avoid creating dusty atmosphere. In case of eye or skin contacts wash out with clean water for 5 to 10 minutes.

Storage

Always store in a cool (below 35ºC) & dry place in single stack pallets away from direct sun light or any other heat source to avoid grit formation.

Pilcure ZBzDC is mainly used as a ‘nitrosamine free’ ultra fast accelerator since it is based on dibenzyl amine and forms N-nitrosodibenzyl amine on vulcanization which is not carcinogenic according to the published literature.

Pilcure ZBzDC is used as primary as well as secondary accelerator in latex and dry rubber based compounds for specialty applications (e.g. nitrosamine free products, products for food contact applications etc.).

The dosage of Pilcure ZBzDC is generally 70% higher than ZDEC and 30% higher than ZDBC to achieve equivalent state of cure since its molecular weight is higher.

Pilcure ZBzDC is effective in the presence of Zinc oxide and Stearic acid as activators of cure in dry rubber compounds. Similarly, presence of Zinc oxide is necessary in latex based compounds.

Pilcure ZBzDC disperses easily in latex as well as dry rubber based compounds and does not decompose in the absence of sulphur.   

Pilcure ZBzDC can be activated by basic accelerators but retardation is difficult. Vulcanization temperatures below 135ºC are recommended for better reversion resistance.

Pilcure ZBzDC offers better processing safety as compared to other dithiocarbamate accelerators. However; necessary precautions similar to other ultra fast accelerators should be taken to avoid premature vulcanization and improved storage stability of uncured stocks.
